Privacy policy

This page explains which personal data this site collects, why, how long it is kept and how to exercise your rights. It describes what the site actually does: no processing is left out.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Data controller

The controller for the processing described here is Bergerac Seed & Breeding, whose registered office and identification appear on the legal notice page. Publication of the site is directed by Anna Malpica, who is also the contact for any question relating to personal data.

For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights, use the site's contact form and select “General enquiry” as the subject.

The contact form

The fields collected are: last name, first name, email address, company, job title, type of request and message. Last name, first name, email, subject and message are required; company and job title are optional.

Purpose: to handle and answer your request. Legal basis: your voluntary approach, which falls under BSB's legitimate interest in replying to those who contact it (Article 6.1.f GDPR).

Recipients: the person or people at BSB competent for the subject of your request. No form data is used for marketing or advertising purposes, nor passed on to any third party. It passes through our email delivery provider, described below.

Retention: three years from the last contact. This period, set by BSB, matches the French data protection authority's recommendation for prospecting and commercial follow-up.

To limit automated submissions, the connecting IP address is kept in the server's memory for at most ten minutes, then erased. It is neither logged nor transmitted.

Audience measurement

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how its pages are consulted. This tool sets cookies and sends data to Google, potentially including outside the European Union.

It only loads after you have agreed. Until you accept, no measurement script is called and no measurement cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time from the banner available in the footer.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).

Cookies

Apart from audience measurement, the site sets no cookies. It uses no advertising network, no social media button and no behavioural tracking tool.

Your consent choice is kept in your browser's local storage for six months. This is what avoids asking you again on every page; that storage is strictly necessary to honour your decision and therefore does not require consent.

Fonts are hosted on our own servers: no request is sent to Google when pages are displayed.

Hosting and processors

The site is hosted by Scaleway, in France, which logs technical requests (IP address, date, page requested) for security and service operation purposes. Its full details appear on the legal notice page.

Google Ireland Limited acts as a processor for audience measurement, under the conditions described above and only after you have agreed.

Delivery of contact form messages is entrusted to Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris), a French email delivery provider acting as a processor: it forwards your request to the relevant people at BSB and keeps it only as long as delivery requires.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of data concerning you, as well as the right to data portability.

To exercise them, send your request through the contact form. You will receive a reply within one month.

If, after contacting us, you consider that your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL — 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, France, www.cnil.fr.
